Yesterday I shared just about every website content writing tip I know – a whole long list of 99 tips. It’s not possible to follow each and every piece of web content advice in every piece of content you write. I know I don’t. However, there are a few rules/tips that I do always follow. I follow the tips because there are numbers to back them up.

Great list. But wouldn’t second person be more effective for the conversational tone? People want to know how the content is going to help them. Calling the reader ‘you’ and by describing
‘your’ experiences and by telling ‘you’ what to do, your content is more able to strike to the heart of the reader. No? I guess it would depend on the type of content. Great list, nonetheless.
I just noticed this as #11 in your 99 writing list (which is also great, by the way!)
“11. Talk less about yourself and more about the customer. Say “you” more than “we” in copy.”
