Bonus Blogging Tip from Ilise Benum

“I often find blog-worthy material in the LinkedIn discussion groups I participate in. Whether I initiate the discussion or not, I choose a question I know is relevant to my prospects, summarize a few useful answers (and get permission from those who posted them), then wrap it all up into a blog post with my own perspective woven in.”

September Blog Post Ideas for Your Business Blog

September Blog Post Ideas for Your Business Blog

This month I’m excited to have a bonus tip from CRO copywriter Joanna Wiebe of Copy Hackers. If you have not read the Copy Hackers blog, you’re missing out. Truly.

Now that that’s out of the way let’s get to those daily blog post ideas for September. Fall is here, and it’s time to school your blog.

***

1 – Notice the way I used the word “school” in the sentence above as a verb. That’s not something your English teacher would approve of, but it sure is fun to use slang. Take a trip over to Urban Dictionary and come up with blog post ideas based on slang terms (that are not totally unprofessional).

2 – September 2nd is Labor Day in the United States. Take a break from writing. Post a picture instead.

BONUS BLOGGING TIP!

“Keep an eye on your analytics. When you’re creating content, it’s easy to let yourself write about any old topic and then go see what keyword phrase to associate with it, but we’ve found a reliable way to select topics that people will care about is to go into Google Analytics and see which of our posts are bringing in the most traffic. For example, we get TONS of visitors to our old post on writing App Store descriptions, so we’re currently interviewing app creators for a new post on promoting your app.”   — Joanna Wiebe of Copy Hackers

BONUS TIP!

Amy Schmittauer (pictured here) of Savvy Sexy Social and Vlog Boss Studios looks at the calendar to get her blog post ideas. Here’s what she has to say:

“I’m often inspired by my calendar. With seasons, holidays, current events, conferences, or just anything, I can usually come up with a new piece of content that connects with everyday life. Just writing down those keywords will help me come up with a way to tie my content to relateable subjects.”
