How often should I post to social media?

Long answer: Depends on the what you are doing. Pinterest, Google+, and Twitter are about high volume. However, on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn you could annoy your followers if you post too much. Short answer: Try 3 to 5 times a week.

When should I post on social media?

Try a variety of times and see what your followers respond to best. Your analytics will tell you what you need to know.

How long should a social media post be?

Some social media sites, most notably Twitter, restricts the number of characters to 140 in a post. As for other social media sites, the answer is not straightforward. People have their own preferences. Generally speaking, though, shorter posts with a picture do best. Again, try different formats and then look at your analytics to see what gets the best engagement.

What type of social media content should I post?  

The type of content is different than the subject matter of the content, which could be defined as the topic of the post. Content type covers the way information is presented.
